The 10 Best Mounts In Diablo 4

Diablo 4 introduces an exciting feature that allows players to use mounts for quick transportation. Players will need to progress to Act 4 of the game's main story and complete the quest "Donan's Favour" to unlock access to the mounts. From there, a wide array of options will be available both in-game and as paid content from the in-game shop.

Thankfully, Diablo 4 has plenty of mounts that players can ride. It is worth noting that the differences between mounts are purely cosmetic, and the different mounts will not have varying speeds or abilities as one might expect. So in this guide, let's take a look at the top 10 mounts found in Diablo 4.

1. Spectral Charger

The Spectral Charger is perhaps the most sought-after mount in Diablo 4, owing to its highly unique ghostly appearance. The blue aura that this mount gives off just makes it that much better. As one might expect, this horse is difficult to obtain and will require players to progress relatively far through the game's main story. Once players have liberated the Kor Dragan stronghold in Fractured Peaks, they can participate in the Gathering Legion Zone event, in which this mount will be available as a loot drop from those events.

2. Temptation

Temptation is another mount available to players upon purchase, only this time, it is restricted to the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Diablo 4. This supernatural steed is dark red with particularly accentuated glowing red eyes, making it stand out from other options. Unlike the Decaying Steed, Temptation has a more ethereal appearance that perfectly complements a variety of armors for both the player and the mount. Its muscular build adds to its intimidating presence, making it a must-have for those looking to stand out in the game.

3. Primal Instinct

Primal Instinct is a unique mount accessible to players who link their Blizzard and Twitch accounts and follow some further steps before they will be gifted a special unlock code. The horse is the most occult-looking, with a dark black coat and branded cultist symbols all over its body. When compared with other branded horses, Primal Instinct has by far the most ornate patterns that give the beast an almost mythical aura. For players who can unlock it, this mount is sure to be a unique find and will be suited to a variety of different armor appearances too.

4. Liath Icehowl

The Liath Icehowl is the mount that goes along with the "Crypt Hunter Add-On". This add-on costs $6.99 USD in the game's shop. The description of this mount reads, "Once used to ferry bodies to their rest; this mottled colt carries with it the trinkets of heroes long dead and buried." This mount is a pretty interesting mount with some cool lore behind it. The mane is uniquely decorated with beads, giving this horse a much more natural and grounded look than some of the others.

5. Light-Bearer

This mount is so special because it looks like most horses, but the color is different. There aren't many horses in the game with the light gray look like this one. It can truly stand out in the middle of the darker colors of the game. The armor it came with is also something that truly pulls together the mount's look. The Light-Bearer is a special horse that is unique to players who had pre-ordered Diablo 4.

6. Grisly Calico

The Grisly Calico mount appearance is another strikingly unique horse with whitish color but decorated with black stripes down its neck and a thick blonde mane. In addition to this, it also has large horns instead of ears, which gives it a distinctive look of some kind of demonic sorcery taking place within this horse. The mount appearance can be unlocked from monster loot drops, but it is relatively rare to come across compared with some other mounts.

7. Decaying steed

The Decaying Steed is a one-of-a-kind mount that boasts an undead facade, making it stand out from other horses available to players. With its skeletal framework, exposed muscles, and scars, this mount exudes an intimidating aura that hints at a possible tale of necromancy behind its creation. To obtain this mount, players will have to first slay Treasure Goblins, which can be found in many different locations worldwide. By killing it, you can also get tons of DIablo IV Gold and Items!

8. Bloody Liquid Steed

The Bloody Liquid Mount is almost the polar opposite of the Cavalier's Steed, for players who prefer a darker and more morbid appearance. This mount's gory aesthetic and leaking, bloodied appearance can present a menacing visual and certainly seems at home in the Diablo universe. Players must simply take the Reigns of the Bloody Liquid Steed to a Stablemaster to unlock it.

9. Cavalier's Steed

This mount is one of the most common in the game and can be found as a loot drop across all regions of the map. Players can simply take the Cavalier's Steed reigns to a Stablemaster to unlock it. What makes this mount stand out from the others is its color. While some horses have a lighter color in the game, this is one of the few white in color. The light color can really help the mount stand out against all the black and dark brown mounts in the game.

10. Ingot Mount

The Ingot Mount is a dark black, intimidating horse with some very interesting and unique armor options. Available as an in-game purchase for 1,600 platinum, players can buy the "Weight of Gold" bundle to unlock this mount along with some very cool armor designs, such as the Keras Bullion for the Ingot Mount. The horse is relatively basic compared to others, but its dark color and additional armor options can make it stand out and appear more supernatural. This mount isn't a bad choice for players who don't mind spending extra on purely cosmetic items.
